Session 12 Blog: Timestamp for the future educational technology
By reading the article, I think the personal cloud is viable
and of great significance. As the author mentioned, individuals will have the
capacity to remain in ‘Perpetual contact ’ with diverse networks and
communities, both physical and virtual. In the future, individuals are more likely
to ‘wrap’ their information landscape themselves instead of managing through
institutions. From my perspective, this is very important, as an individual, we
have read and learn lots of things. However, it is impossible to remember them
and it’s not efficient when we want to use them. If all the information
can be stored in our personal database, it will be much more efficient for us
to retrieve the information.
Additionally, I have two predictions for the future in the
next 25 years. First, I think there will be enhanced brain-machine in the
future. As the cognition science is very popular these days, there are many
studies and researches about human brains. How people learn and remember the
things? The enhanced brain-machine will guide people read, digest and connect
the information in a more efficient way and help them better remember the
things.
Apart from that, the learning spaces and places would be
more flexible. The learning happens everywhere and there will be no strict
classrooms. Combined with AR, VR technologies, leaners could have classes on
their mobile devices. They can have interactions with their teachers and classmates,
and the AI tutors will keep track of the learner’s brains and their facial expressions
and generate the learning report after class. The data will indicate what the
learners have or haven’t understood and the practices will be different according
to personal learning reports.
In conclusion, in the next 25 years, education will be more
flexible, personalized and efficient. The rotation study will dramatically decrease.
However, people will remember new things more quickly with the help of brain
machines. And more spared time will be used to develop the learners critical and
creative thinking based on their knowledge.
